PM Approves Health Facility Program Extension Until 2027

Free Healthcare Program for ICT, AJK, GB Continues

Gilgit: (Web Desk) – Prime Minister of Pakistan has approved the extension of the Health Facility Program for Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK), and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) until the fiscal year 2027. This move reinforces the federal government’s commitment to universal health coverage.

Under the extended program, eligible families will continue to receive free treatment at designated government and private hospitals. The initiative is expected to particularly benefit the people of Gilgit-Baltistan, where access to specialized medical care has long been a challenge due to geographical difficulties and limited healthcare infrastructure.

The program will also help ease the financial burden on the provincial Health Endowment Fund. Parallel operations of the Health Facility Program will ensure uninterrupted access to essential healthcare services for the public.
