FJMU Hosts Dinner for International Alumni at Annual Scientific Conference
FJMU Conference Praised as Exemplary by Dr. Akram, Dr. Khan
ISLAMABAD: Fatima Jinnah Medical University (FJMU) hosted a dinner honoring its alumni from the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom during the closing ceremony of its annual international scientific conference, highlighting the university’s expanding global academic engagement.
The event was presided over by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal, with former Punjab Health Minister Professor Dr. Javed Akram and Punjab Higher Education Commission Chairman Dr. Iqrar Ahmed Khan attending as chief guests.
Senior leaders from major medical institutions across Punjab, along with heads, principals, and professors from public, private, and armed forces-affiliated medical colleges, were also present.

A large number of distinguished medical professionals from abroad, including FJMU alumni practicing in North America and the United Kingdom, participated in the event. Faculty members and senior administrators served on the organizing committee to ensure the successful conduct of the conference and related activities.
In his address, Professor Gondal welcomed the guests and praised alumni associations, describing them as ambassadors of Pakistan abroad. He emphasized the importance of international collaboration in advancing medical education and healthcare standards.
Professor Dr. Javed Akram congratulated the university on organizing a successful international conference on health reforms, noting that strong institutions are vital for national progress. Dr. Iqrar Ahmed Khan called the conference exemplary and expressed optimism about the university’s future trajectory.
Other speakers, including Professor Aamir Zaman Khan and Professor Mahmood Ayaz, lauded the vice chancellor’s leadership and the collective efforts of the university and alumni associations in hosting the high-profile academic event.
The ceremony concluded with a formal dinner and the presentation of honorary shields to distinguished guests in recognition of their contributions.
