ICC Names Elite Officials for Pakistan vs South Africa Test and White-Ball Series 2025
For the white-ball matches, the T20I series begins on 28 October at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
LAHORE – Sri Lanka’s Ranjan Madugalle has been appointed as the match referee for the upcoming ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 matches and the white-ball series between Pakistan and South Africa, scheduled from 12 October to 8 November.
The first Test will take place at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, from 12 to 16 October. Australia’s Rodney Tucker, a member of the ICC Elite Panel of Umpires, will serve as on-field umpire alongside New Zealand’s Christopher Brown from the ICC Emerging Umpires Group. Bangladesh’s Saikat Sharfuddoula (ICC Elite Panel) will act as the third umpire, while Pakistan’s Faisal Khan Afridi (ICC International Panel) will be the fourth umpire.
The second Test will be held at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from 20 to 24 October, with Christopher Brown and Saikat Sharfuddoula as on-field umpires. Rodney Tucker will take on the role of third umpire, and Rashid Riaz (ICC International Panel) will serve as fourth umpire.

For the white-ball matches, the T20I series begins on 28 October at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Muhammad Asif Yaqoob (ICC Emerging Umpires Group) and Rashid Riaz will officiate on-field, with Faisal Khan Afridi as third umpire and Tariq Rasheed as fourth umpire. The same team will oversee the second T20I on 31 October at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. For the third T20I on 1 November at Gaddafi Stadium, Rashid Riaz and Faisal Khan Afridi will be on-field umpires, with Asif Yaqoob as third umpire.
The three-match ODI series will be played at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad. Saikat Sharfuddoula and Asif Yaqoob will umpire the first ODI on 4 November, with England’s Alex Wharf (ICC Elite Panel) as third umpire and Rashid Riaz as fourth umpire. Wharf and Ahsan Raza (both ICC Elite Panel) will officiate together on-field for the second ODI, with Saikat Sharfuddoula and Rashid Riaz as third and fourth umpires. The final ODI will see Saikat Sharfuddoula and Faisal Khan Afridi on-field, with Alex Wharf as third umpire and Rashid Riaz as fourth umpire.
