Pakistani cueist Muhammad Asif advances into semi-final of 12th World Games

BEIJING: Snooker World Champion Muhammad Asif has reached the semi-final in the 12th World Games, according to media reports.

Upon his qualification, Pakistan’s medal in the Games has been confirmed.

Asif beats an English player, Zac Cosker, in the quarter-finals of the game by 2-0.

After winning the first frame 39-81, Muhammad Asif won the second frame 15-79 to secure a place in the final four and secure a bronze medal for his country.

Earlier, World champion Muhammad Asif won the championship by defeating India’s Vijay Najani in the final of the World Masters Snooker Championship.

In the final of the World Masters Snooker Championship played in the capital of Bahrain, Manama, Pakistani player World Champion Muhammad Asif defeated Indian rival Vijay Najani Brajesh Damani 3-4 after an exciting and thrilling match to capture the title.
