IESCO Empowers Consumers with Smart Meter Reading App

The Power Smart app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or App Store.

Islamabad (Staff Reporter) – Chief Executive Officer of Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), Muhammad Naeem Jan, has announced the launch of a new smart initiative, Apna Meter Apni Reading – Power Smart Application, designed to enhance transparency, accuracy, and consumer participation in the electricity billing process.

Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Naeem Jan stated that the Government of Pakistan and the Ministry of Energy (Power Division) are working diligently to address consumer issues, ensure the provision of affordable electricity, and modernize service delivery through the use of cutting-edge technology. As part of these efforts, the newly launched smart application will allow consumers to take and submit their own meter readings every month on a designated date, ensuring timely, accurate, and error-free billing.

He emphasized that the main goal of this initiative is to eliminate common issues such as delayed or incorrect meter readings caused by manual processes. The new system empowers consumers to actively participate in their billing cycle, giving them better control over their electricity usage and bill accuracy.

All IESCO offices have been equipped with the necessary tools and guidelines under directives from the Ministry of Energy to support this rollout. Additionally, a comprehensive awareness campaign has been launched to educate consumers about the benefits and usage of the Power Smart App.

Muhammad Naeem Jan noted that this move will help strengthen public trust in IESCO and promote greater transparency and accountability. He reaffirmed IESCO’s commitment to consumer-friendly policies and stated that the initiative has received positive feedback from both the public and relevant institutions.
