Qatar extends force majeure on LNG supplies until end of August 2026
Govt expects LNG cargo deliveries under its long-term agreement with Qatar
Doha: (News Desk) – Qatar Energy has extended the force majeure imposed after the attack on the Ras Laffan LNG production complex, prolonging the disruption until the end of August 2026.
The extension is forcing Pakistan to meet its gas demand by purchasing more expensive liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the spot market, increasing the country’s energy import costs.

Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Ali Pervaiz Malik told media that the government expects LNG cargo deliveries under its long-term agreement with Qatar to resume if the force majeure is lifted in September 2026.
