Air India Plane Crashes During Takeoff in Ahmedabad with 244 Passengers Onboard

An Air India plane carrying 242 passengers, including 230 travelers, 10 cabin crew members, and 2 pilots, crashed near Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, during takeoff. The aircraft, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, was headed to London when it went down in the Meghani Nagar area close to the airport boundary. Thick plumes of smoke were visible from the wreckage, and emergency services, including fire and rescue teams, were quickly deployed to the scene. The cause of the crash is under investigation by aviation authorities, including the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
The flight was taking off for London and it crashed during routine operations on the tarmac, according to Indian media citing preliminary information.
Some reports suggest as many as 242 passengers were on board.
