Trump Extends Iran Ceasefire After Pakistan’s Request

Washingyton – (Web Desk) – Trump extends Iran ceasefire to give peace talks another chance. The move came after Pakistan, acting as a mediator, asked for more time. Tehran has not yet responded.

Trump said Iran’s leadership is “fractured.” He wants them to come up with a clear, unified peace proposal first. Until that happens, the ceasefire stays in place — but so does the US naval blockade of Iran’s ports.

The blockade is a major problem for Iran. It blocks about one-fifth of the world’s oil and gas exports through the Strait of Hormuz. Trump says the blockade is key to making any deal work.

What Happens Next?

Vice President JD Vance was supposed to fly to Pakistan for talks. That trip is now on hold. The White House said Vance will only travel once Iran submits a formal proposal.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked Trump for the extension. The United Nations Secretary General also welcomed the decision.

Iran Stays Silent

Iran has not officially reacted to the ceasefire extension. Before the deadline passed, Tehran warned it could strike Gulf neighbors’ oil facilities if attacked. Both sides blame each other for breaking the original truce.

Ordinary Iranians say life is still hard. “This cursed ceasefire has broken us,” said one Tehran resident.

Israel and Lebanon Hold Talks

On a separate front, Israel and Lebanon will meet in Washington on Thursday. A 10-day ceasefire between the two sides began last Friday. However, sporadic violence continues. Hezbollah claimed it launched a strike on northern Israel on Tuesday, calling it retaliation for Israeli violations.

Lebanese officials say Israeli attacks have killed at least 2,454 people since the war began.

Despite the uncertainty, stock markets rose on Tuesday. Investors are hopeful that a deal between the US and Iran is still possible.
