PM Shehbaz, UAE President Discuss Regional Peace, Bilateral Ties After India Ceasefire

“The United Arab Emirates has always stood by Pakistan,” PM Shehbaz remarked.

ISLAMABAD — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephonic conversation on Wednesday with United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, focusing on regional stability, the recent ceasefire understanding with India, and the strengthening of bilateral ties between Pakistan and the UAE.

During the call, Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed heartfelt gratitude for the UAE’s diplomatic efforts to help de-escalate tensions in South Asia. He praised the UAE’s constructive and consistent role in promoting peace and regional harmony.

“The United Arab Emirates has always stood by Pakistan,” PM Shehbaz remarked, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to peace while maintaining national sovereignty. “It is in this spirit that we agreed to a ceasefire understanding with India.”

The Prime Minister stressed that Pakistan would firmly defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity. He also underlined that the Indus Waters Treaty remains a binding agreement that Pakistan will not allow to be undermined.

Highlighting the strong and brotherly ties between Pakistan and the UAE, PM Shehbaz noted significant improvements in bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of economic development and investment. He emphasized his desire to transform the relationship into a deep, mutually beneficial economic partnership.

President Al Nahyan welcomed Pakistan’s efforts for regional peace and stability, and appreciated the ceasefire agreement with India. He reaffirmed the UAE’s continued support for peace in South Asia and its commitment to further strengthening relations with Pakistan.
