FIA NCB – INTERPOL Pakistan Celebrates Remarkable Success in Global Crime Crackdown

Director General Jahangir emphasized the urgency of accelerated actions to apprehend suspects wanted for serious crimes, underscoring the need to establish robust links with international organizations.

ISLAMABAD: In a resounding victory against transnational crime, the Federal Investigation Agency’s National Central Bureau (NCB) – INTERPOL Pakistan has achieved unprecedented milestones in the past six months. With a relentless pursuit of justice and unwavering determination, the agency has apprehended a total of 66 accused individuals wanted for serious crimes, ranging from murder to corruption, across various countries.

These extraordinary accomplishments were made possible through the issuance of red notices by FIA NCB – INTERPOL, leading to the successful arrest of the accused perpetrators. Among those apprehended, 50 were wanted for murder, 5 for fraud and forgery, 4 for robbery, and 3 for attempted murder. These individuals had eluded law enforcement agencies in Pakistan, including FIA, NAB, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Azad Kashmir Police, until the relentless pursuit of justice by FIA NCB – INTERPOL.

The global reach and effectiveness of FIA NCB – INTERPOL were evident in the arrests made across multiple countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Bahrain, and Azerbaijan. Notably, accused individuals apprehended in Spain, Turkey, Bahrain, and Azerbaijan were successfully extradited, showcasing the agency’s formidable international cooperation and coordination efforts.

Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir, Director General of FIA, lauded the outstanding performances of NCB Interpol Pakistan, highlighting the agency’s commitment to upholding justice and combating transnational crime. Equipped with modern technology and bolstered by seamless communication with law enforcement agencies worldwide, NCB Interpol Pakistan has emerged as a formidable force in the global fight against crime.

Additionally, special measures will be implemented to enhance the capabilities of INTERPOL officers through comprehensive training programs, further strengthening their ability to combat transnational crime effectively.
