Pakistan Observes 59th Defence and Martyrs Day
Islamabad(Mudassar Iqbal)-Pakistan is commemorating the 59th Defence and Martyrs Day today, September 6, to honor the bravery and sacrifices of its armed forces and citizens during the 1965 war with India. The day marks a pivotal moment in Pakistan’s history, showcasing the nation’s collective national spirit and determination to defend the country against all threats.
Prime Minister’s Message
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the armed forces and martyrs, saying, “The courage and dedication of our soldiers, coupled with the preparedness of the Armed Forces, ensure that we live in a free and sovereign country.” He emphasized the government’s commitment to dialogue over conflict and cooperation over confrontation, while stressing the need for a peaceful resolution to the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.
Military Leaders’ Tribute
Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and Services Chiefs also paid tribute to the martyrs and heroes of the 1965 war, reaffirming the armed forces’ commitment to defend the country against all threats.
