ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) : Members of the Young Doctors Association staged a protest demonstration at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) on Saturday against the recent increase in petroleum product prices, saying the rising cost of living has made survival difficult for both doctors and patients.
During the protest, young doctors said soaring fuel prices had “broken the backs” of the salaried class, particularly junior medical staff struggling to manage daily expenses in the federal capital.
Speaking to the media, protesting doctors said they were facing increasing financial pressure due to rising transportation, food and utility costs.

“We are standing at a crossroads where we don’t know whether to focus on treating our patients or worry about meeting our own household expenses,” a resident doctor said.
The protesters demanded an immediate increase in basic salaries, arguing that inflation had made it nearly impossible for middle-class families to cope with daily expenses.
The YDA representatives also warned that if their demands were not addressed, the protest movement could be expanded to other cities across the country.
