US Launches Expanded Airstrikes Against Iranian Military Targets
Trump Orders Expanded US Airstrikes on Iranian Military Targets Near Hormuz
Washington: (Special Reporter) – The United States has launched a broader air campaign against Iranian military targets following direct instructions from President Donald Trump, according to US military officials.
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said additional strikes are underway as part of efforts to protect freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. The command stated that military assets considered a threat to international shipping are being targeted in response to what it described as Iran’s unprovoked attacks on commercial vessels.
A US official told Axios that the operation is focused on Iranian military positions around the Strait of Hormuz, including coastal radar installations operated by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The official added that anti-ship missile launch sites and air defense systems are among the primary targets, and that the latest wave of strikes is larger in scope than previous operations conducted in recent days.
Meanwhile, Iranian media reported multiple explosions across southern parts of the country, including Hormuzgan province, Bandar Abbas, Sirik Island, and Bushehr province. Reports claimed that Iranian air defense systems were activated near Bandar Abbas to intercept incoming attacks.
Iranian outlets also said that electricity was temporarily disrupted in the southeastern city of Chabahar following the explosions. Iranian authorities have not yet released an official assessment of casualties or damage.

The latest developments mark another significant escalation in tensions between Washington and Tehran, with growing concerns that continued military exchanges could further destabilize the region and disrupt global energy supplies.
