UK Simplifies Visa Process for Pakistanis with New Digital System
As part of its digital immigration overhaul, the UK is offering expanded e-Visa services to Pakistani applicants, allowing them to manage their immigration status online
Jane Marriott, the UK High Commissioner to Pakistan, has announced plans to simplify the visa process for Pakistani travelers to the UK as part of a move towards a digital immigration system.
According to a British High Commission statement from Islamabad, the UK is expanding its e-Visa services to include biometric data, allowing applicants to manage their immigration status online. While a UKVI (UK Visas and Immigration) online account will be necessary for this system, tourists won’t need to create one.
The statement emphasized that the UK’s immigration system is transitioning to a digital format, meaning physical documents will be replaced by online immigration statuses.

For individuals receiving a UK visa valid for less than six months, including for tourism, a UKVI account will not be required.
“This technological advancement will streamline the visa process, enhance security, and reduce reliance on paper documentation,” noted the high commissioner. She highlighted that this new system is free, secure, and user-friendly, offering a more efficient way for travelers to handle their immigration status.
This initiative is part of the UK’s broader effort to modernize its immigration system by replacing traditional paper documents with an online status declaration, thereby improving security and accessibility for applicants.
