Turkish Ambassador Commits Support in Counter-Terrorism as Naqvi Plans Visit to Turkiye

Meeting Highlights Focus on Bilateral Cooperation, Counter-Terrorism, and Strengthening Relations

ISLAMABAD- On Thursday, Turkish Ambassador Dr. Mehmet Pacaci met with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi at the Ministry of Interior to discuss the strengthening of Pakistan-Turkey relations and various shared interests.

The meeting resulted in an agreement to bolster collaboration in counter-terrorism, policing, and civil armed forces. Additionally, both parties decided to increase the frequency of flights between Pakistan and Turkey.

Turkish Ambassador Dr. Mehmet Pacaci strongly denounced the recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan, noting that Turkiye had faced similar challenges in the past but has since overcome them. He assured Turkiye’s full support in Pakistan’s counter-terrorism efforts.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi acknowledged Pakistan’s significant sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, highlighting the contributions of the Army, Police, Rangers, and FC. He welcomed Turkiye’s assistance in this ongoing struggle.

Minister Naqvi announced plans to visit Turkiye in October, where he will discuss further measures to enhance bilateral cooperation. He emphasized Pakistan’s desire to deepen its close relationship with Turkiye and noted that Pakistanis regard Turkey as their second home.

The Interior Minister commended Dr. Pacaci for his efforts in strengthening Pakistan-Turkiye relations and congratulated him on his new role as Special Envoy of the OIC for combating Islamophobia, wishing him success in his future endeavors.

Dr. Mehmet Pacaci expressed his gratitude to Minister Naqvi for his support during his tenure as ambassador in Pakistan.
