Trump Hormuz 20% toll fee announced for all ships passing through strait

TRUMP – (Special Correspondent/Web Desk) – President Donald Trump has announced a Trump Hormuz 20% toll on all ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. He also said the US will bring back its naval blockade against Iran, just weeks after a ceasefire was signed between the two nations.

Trump shared the news on his Truth Social account. He said the United States will now act as the “Guardian of the Hormuz Strait.” He added that the strait will stay open for all countries, except Iran.

The Trump Hormuz Strait tax will apply to every ship that carries cargo through the waterway. Trump said the fee is fair, since the US is providing safety and security in a risky part of the world.

This move comes right after fresh fighting broke out between US and Iran. Both sides had agreed to a 60-day ceasefire back in June. But that deal has now fallen apart.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard has said the Hormuz Strait closed again for regular shipping. This means many oil tankers and cargo ships may face delays or danger while trying to cross.

Iran and the US are now blaming each other for breaking the ceasefire. Trump said in a Fox News interview that Iran never keeps its word. He said, “We had a deal. It was a done deal, and they broke it.”

Iran’s top parliament speaker also spoke out. He said the days of one-sided deals are over, and that Iran will not back down this time.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the busiest oil routes on Earth. A large share of the world’s oil supply passes through this narrow sea path every single day.

Because of this new tension, oil prices have already jumped. Brent crude oil went up by more than four percent on Monday alone. Experts believe prices may rise even more if the fighting continues.

Global shipping companies are now watching the situation closely. Many are worried about higher costs and unsafe routes if the blockade stays in place for long.

The United Nations shipping body has also raised concerns. It said it does not support any country charging fees to use international waterways like Hormuz.
