Trump’s Face Could Appear on US $250 Bill Amid Trump $250 Bill Controversy
Trump $250 bill controversy raises questions over US traditions
Trump – (Web Desk) – The “Trump $250 bill controversy” is gaining attention across the United States after reports claimed that Republicans are considering placing President Donald Trump’s image on a new $250 currency note.
According to reports, the proposed design includes Trump’s portrait along with the words “America 250 anniversary,” linked to the country’s 250th Independence Day celebrations in 2026.
If approved, it would mark the first time in more than 150 years that a living American president appeared on US currency. Current federal law does not allow living individuals to be featured on American money.
Reports also claimed that officials at the Treasury Department asked the Bureau of Engraving and Printing to prepare early prototypes for the bill. However, several employees reportedly raised legal concerns about the proposal.
Former bureau director Patricia Solimene allegedly warned officials that the idea could face major legal and procedural challenges. Soon after, she was reassigned from her position, according to reports.
The debate has also increased criticism from Democrats, who say the move reflects a growing effort to place Trump’s name and image on major American institutions.
Earlier this year, a special 24-carat commemorative gold coin connected to America’s 250th anniversary was also approved by the US Commission of Fine Arts.
Meanwhile, Senator Mark Warner criticized the proposal and described it as an attempt to boost the president’s personal image rather than protect American traditions.
