Suicide Bombing Targets FC Convoy in Balochistan, 1 Martyred, 4 Injured

QUETTA: A suicide bombing targeted a Frontier Corps (FC) convoy in Balochistan‘s Kalat district on Monday, resulting in the martyrdom of one soldier and injuries to four others. The attack took place on the National Highway near the Mughalzai area, according to Kalat Deputy Commissioner Bilal Shabbir.

The blast was carried out by a female suicide bomber, who detonated explosives near the passing FC convoy. As a result, one FC soldier, Naik Attaullah, lost his life, while sepoys Vakil, Zayed, Abbas, and Mushtaq sustained injuries. One of the injured soldiers is reported to be in critical condition.

In response to the attack, security forces and Levies personnel swiftly cordoned off the area and launched an investigation. The bodies of the martyred soldier and the injured personnel were transported to the FC camp for medical treatment.

Deputy Commissioner Bilal Shabbir also confirmed that the wing commander of the FC convoy remained unharmed in the attack. Authorities have heightened security in the region and are conducting a thorough investigation.

As of now, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. The authorities continue to investigate the incident as part of ongoing efforts to combat militancy in Balochistan.
