Pakistan’s T20 Captain Mohammad Rizwan Likely to Be Replaced Ahead of New Zealand Tour

ISLAMABAD: Sources revealed on Monday that Pakistan’s T20 captain, Mohammad Rizwan, is expected to be removed from his position as part of significant changes to the squad ahead of the upcoming tour of New Zealand. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly considering Salman Ali Agha and Mohammad Haris as potential successors for the T20 captaincy.

In addition to Rizwan, other veteran players, including Babar Azam, are said to be excluded from the T20 team for the New Zealand series. The PCB is focusing on fresh talent for the squad, with the aim to experiment with new players and strategies.

As part of these changes, Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf are also expected to be left out of the ODI squad. Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris is likely to be included in the squad, alongside young pacers Akif Javed and Mohammad Wasim Jr.
