SpaceX Secures $30 Billion AI Computing Deal with Google Ahead of Historic IPO

The landmark agreement comes just days before SpaceX's highly anticipated IPO on June 12

WASHINGTON: (Web Desk) – SpaceX has signed a massive cloud computing agreement with Google under which the tech giant will pay approximately $920 million per month for access to a vast cluster of AI chips, according to the company’s IPO filing.

The deal covers around 110,000 Nvidia GPUs, the advanced processors required to power Google’s Gemini artificial intelligence models. Google is expected to begin paying the full monthly amount from October 2026, following a ramp-up period with reduced fees.

The agreement will remain in effect until June 2029, generating nearly $30 billion in revenue for SpaceX over its duration. The contract follows a similar arrangement with AI company Anthropic, which reportedly leased computing capacity at SpaceX-linked Colossus data centers for $1.25 billion per month.

According to the filing, xAI — Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence venture — recorded an operating loss of $6.4 billion on revenue of $3.2 billion last year.

A Google Cloud spokesperson described the agreement as a “short-term, timely” solution to meet growing demand for the company’s Gemini Enterprise platform. The filing also notes that either party may terminate the contract with 90 days’ notice after December 31.

The landmark agreement comes just days before SpaceX’s highly anticipated IPO on June 12, which is expected to be the largest public offering in history and could value the company at approximately $1.8 trillion.

Investors are betting on Elon Musk’s vision to expand the Starlink satellite network, develop space-based data centers, and advance plans for human settlement on Mars.
