Shehbaz, Maryam Nawaz slam Bushra Bibi’s recent claims

Rejects Allegations: Saudi Arabia's Reputation Defended

Islamabad-Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz strongly condemned recent remarks made by former First Lady Bushra Bibi, accusing her of harming Pakistan’s relations with its long-standing ally, Saudi Arabia.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly rejected allegations against Saudi Arabia, calling them “unacceptable” and emphasizing the importance of maintaining good relations with the kingdom. Speaking in Taunsa, he highlighted Saudi Arabia’s consistent support for Pakistan and warned that the public won’t tolerate any attempts to strain their ties. This statement comes after Bushra Bibi’s controversial comments sparked debate and criticism from various political leaders. PM Shehbaz’s response aims to diffuse tensions and reaffirm Pakistan’s strong bond with Saudi Arabia, a crucial partner and economic ally. The two countries have been working together to strengthen their mutually beneficial ties, with the Prime Minister and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman agreeing to further au

He acknowledged KSA’s unconditional support for Pakistan, saying, “The Kingdom had never asked for any demand in return.”

The statements made yesterday are the greatest disservice to Pakistan. Saudi Arabia has always stood by us, opening its doors in our times of need.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman personally urged us to bring developmental projects forward, assuring us of their full support

Speaking about the Saudi crown prince, PM Shehbaz said, “Mohammad Bin Salman asked me to roll out projects as we are looking forward to them.”

“Instead of having good sentiments for Saudi Arabia, the controversial statement had been made,” he said.

The premier resolved to ensure the national integration at any cost.

Recalling the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) bailout package, PM Shehbaz said, “Saudi Arabia had bailed out Pakistan in connection with securing a deal with the international lender.”

“It was Saudi Arabia that provided Pakistan with free oil when the sanctions were imposed on Pakistan following the nuclear blasts,” he said.

The prime minister took an indirect jibe at former first lady Bushra Bibi, saying, “All the limits had been crossed yesterday by showing enmity towards Saudi Arabia yesterday by penning a statement.”

“Saudi Arabia has never asked for a favor from Pakistan in the past 77 years. It was Shah Abdullah, who held Nawaz Sharif’s hands and said, You are my brother,” he stated.

He continued to lavish his praise on Saudi Arabia, saying, “The KSA is the great ally of Pakistan.”

Talking about the situation in Balochistan, PM Shehbaz said, “The solarization project has been started for Balochistan tube wells.

He commended the efforts made by Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, saying, “It is due to the efforts of the Balochistan chief minister that the meritocracy prevails again in the province.”

Recalling the flash floods that occurred back in 2022, PM Shehbaz said, “The Kacchi canal has been damaged due to the unprecedented floods.”

“The credit goes to Nawaz Sharif for spearheading the Kaachi Canal project,” he said.

He said, “During the regime of Pervez Musharraf, the project was harmed to a great extent.”

Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz also took a jibe at Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, labelling them as an attack on Pakistan’s most trusted ally. Maryam Nawaz was staggered at how a “non-political individual” could harm Pakistan’s foreign relations.

“It is shocking that a domestic figure with no political involvement made such baseless accusations against a nation that has always supported us in difficult times,” she said.

Maryam highlighted the growing external and internal challenges Pakistan faces, accusing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) government of fuelling unrest. She alleged that KP’s administration was actively plotting against the federal and Punjab governments, describing their agenda as “dangerous and incomprehensible.”

She also criticized the trend of political disruptions, questioning why protests emerge whenever Pakistan is on the path to progress.

The controversy stems from a statement by Bushra Bibi, alleging interference by former COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa under foreign influence. She claimed that attempts were made to undermine her husband, PTI’s founding leader, labeling him a “Jewish agent” and attacking her character.

Both PM Shehbaz Sharif and CM Maryam Nawaz reiterated their commitment to protecting Pakistan’s interests and ensuring that such divisive rhetoric does not damage the country’s relationships or progress.
