Section 144 Imposed In Quetta Amid Security Concerns

Balochistan Enforces Section 144 In Quetta Over Security Threats

Quetta: (Web Desk)- The Balochistan Home Department has enforced Section 144 in Quetta for one month to strengthen security and maintain public order amid rising safety concerns.

According to an official notification issued on Sunday, authorities have banned the display and carrying of weapons, double riding on motorcycles, the use of tinted vehicle windows, and the movement of unregistered vehicles within the city.

The administration has also prohibited all public gatherings, including rallies, demonstrations, and processions involving five or more individuals under the imposed restrictions.

In another key measure, officials have temporarily banned covering faces in public places during the enforcement period.

The notification confirmed that the orders have taken immediate effect and warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone violating the restrictions.

Balochistan Home Department adviser Babar Yousafzai stated that the measures were introduced due to concerns regarding possible activities by extremist groups and banned organisations.

He said any act of “adventurism” by outlawed groups would receive a firm and decisive response from the authorities.

Officials added that security forces and law enforcement agencies have completed preparations and have been fully deployed throughout Quetta to handle any emergency situation.

Babar Yousafzai stated that the steps were necessary to preserve peace, ensure public safety, and prevent any disruption to law and order in the provincial capital.

In a statement shared on X, he added that security agencies remain on high alert to counter possible activities by groups referred to by authorities as “Fitna al-Khawarij” and “Fitna al-Hindustan”.
