Sargodha Rape Case: Arsalan Killed in CCD Encounter

Sargodha – (Web Desk) – The main accused in the rape and murder of eight-year-old Muntaha Zahra was killed in an Arsalan Sargodha encounter CCD operation while police were taking him for evidence recovery.

His associates opened fire on the CCD team during the recovery process. Police returned fire and Arsalan was killed on the spot.

Arsalan had been arrested just a day earlier on Tuesday. He was identified as a drug addict with a history of similar crimes in the past.

Three of his accomplices were arrested on the very first day of the investigation. Police were also questioning a shopkeeper named Hanif, his son, and one more person linked to the case.

According to the FIR, little Muntaha Zahra had gone to a nearby shop to buy some items. Arsalan raped her inside the shop and then killed her with a sharp weapon.

It was also revealed that the girl’s father had a quarrel with the shopkeeper just a few days before the incident.

CCTV footage from the shop showed Muntaha walking inside. She never came out.

DPO Sohaib Ashraf had already formed special teams to arrest the suspects as soon as the case was reported.
