Muntaha Zahra Sargodha Murder Case: Court Grants Remand

Four Suspects in Muntaha Zahra Sargodha Murder Case Get Six-Day Remand

Sargodha – (Web Desk) – A local court in Sargodha has handed four suspects into police custody on a six-day physical remand in the Muntaha Zahra Sargodha murder case, sending shockwaves across the country.

The court approved the remand after police presented the suspects before a senior civil judge. Investigators need more time to gather evidence and complete the inquiry into this horrific crime.

Police arrested the prime suspect late Monday night. Three more suspects were also taken into custody, including the owner of the kirana store where the little girl’s body was found.

According to the FIR, seven-year-old Muntaha Zahra had left her home to buy something from a nearby shop. When she did not return, her worried father went looking for her and discovered the unthinkable.

The father named all four suspects in the First Information Report filed at City Police Station Sargodha. The case has been registered under sections of murder, attempted rape, and abetment under the Pakistan Penal Code.

A police spokesperson confirmed that the prime suspect, Arslan, sexually assaulted the child and then killed her with a sharp weapon out of fear of being identified. He had initially fled the scene but was later arrested.

The shop owner Muhammad Abbas and two other co-accused are alleged to have planned the crime. The FIR states that Abbas had threatened the victim’s father two days before the incident after an argument over a shop account.

Residents of the area are demanding swift justice and strict punishment for all those responsible. The family of Muntaha Zahra has urged the authorities to ensure this case reaches its logical conclusion.

Authorities have formed a special investigation team to handle the case and forensic teams are collecting evidence from the scene. Further arrests and major developments in the case are expected in the coming days.
