Sargodha Police Officers Seek Unconditional Apology in Judge Harassment Case

The Lahore High Court has adjourned the proceedings until the second week of August.

LAHORE:  The District Police Officer (DPO) of Sargodha and other police officials have tendered an unconditional apology to the Lahore High Court in the case concerning the alleged harassment of a judge from the Sargodha Anti-Terrorism Court.

The petition, heard by Justice Shahid Karim, involves accusations of harassment by a sensitive organization against the judge. During the proceedings, the federal government’s lawyer stated that the Prime Minister, currently out of the country, would ensure compliance with the court’s orders within a few weeks.

Justice Shahid Karim noted that the court is dealing with two matters: a writ petition and a contempt of court case. He inquired about the appropriate action for the contempt case, with Court Assistant Hina Hafeez advising that the court indeed has the jurisdiction to proceed with contempt actions.

The Lahore High Court has adjourned the proceedings until the second week of August.
