US Iran Sign Electronic Framework Agreement on Talks
US Iran Move Toward Dialogue With New Framework Agreement
Washington: (Web Desk) – The United States and Iran have electronically signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at establishing a framework for future diplomatic engagement, according to US Vice President JD Vance.
Vance stated that the document was signed on the US side by President Donald Trump and himself, while Iran’s delegation was represented by chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. He noted that the full text of the agreement will be made public later this week.
The Vice President said the two countries are now maintaining direct communication, marking what he described as a significant shift in diplomatic relations between Washington and Tehran.

Speaking in an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, Vance characterized the memorandum as a brief framework document of approximately one and a half pages. He added that while it outlines broad principles, detailed issues will be addressed in upcoming rounds of negotiations.
According to Vance, the agreement includes commitments related to regional stability, including steps to prevent support for groups described as terrorist organizations, as well as assurances regarding Iran’s pledge not to pursue nuclear weapons development.
He further emphasized that the memorandum serves as an initial structure for continued dialogue, stating that technical matters will be finalized through future discussions, with both sides expected to work toward mutual benefits under the framework.
The development is being viewed as an early step toward broader diplomatic negotiations between the two countries.
