Rs4.5b Pakistan Semiconductor Engineers Training Plan

Govt launches Rs4.5 billion Pakistan semiconductor engineers training plan

PAKISTAN – (Web Desk) – Pakistan semiconductor engineers training has officially started under a new government program worth Rs4.5 billion. Information Technology Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja shared the update at an event in Islamabad.

She said the plan will train around 7,200 engineers in chip designing and semiconductor work. This is one of the biggest tech training efforts launched by the government so far.

The minister said nearly 300 students are already learning at different universities across the country. More students will join the program in the coming months.

Shaza Fatima said the main goal is simple. The government wants to give young people skills that are in high demand today. This will help them find better jobs in Pakistan and abroad.

She also said every training batch goes through a review. A third-party team checks the results after each program. This helps the government see how many trained engineers actually get jobs.

Officials believe this step will support Pakistan’s growing tech sector. It may also attract more international companies looking for skilled chip design talent.

The program is part of a bigger plan to build a strong semiconductor industry in Pakistan. More details on future training batches are expected soon.
