Rizwan, Imam Sent Home After Pakistan’s Lord’s Loss

LONDON: (Sports Reporter) – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to send wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan and opener Imam-ul-Haq back to Pakistan on an emergency basis following the team’s heavy defeat at Lord’s.

Pakistan suffered a 194-run defeat against England in the second Test on the fourth day, allowing England to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

Following the loss, Pakistan’s team management held an emergency meeting in London, with the PCB considering several changes to the Test squad ahead of the final match.

Rizwan, Imam Set To Return

According to sources, the board has decided to send Mohammad Rizwan back to Pakistan after his dismissal in the Lord’s Test. Rizwan had also been part of the playing XI in the opening Test at Leeds.

Imam-ul-Haq is also expected to return to Pakistan, with the PCB reportedly seeking a detailed assessment of his injury.

The decision comes as Pakistan look to reassess their squad following another disappointing result in the series.

Saim Ayub, Arafat Minhas In Contention

Sources said Saim Ayub and Arafat Minhas have been called up for the third Test, scheduled to begin on September 9 in Birmingham.

Their inclusion could signal further changes to Pakistan’s lineup as the team attempts to avoid a clean sweep by England.

Pakistan’s latest defeat at Lord’s was particularly significant as it ended a 16-year wait for England to beat Pakistan at the venue.

With England now leading the series 2-0, Pakistan will enter the Birmingham Test under pressure to produce a strong response and finish the tour on a positive note.
