PTI Rallies August 5 2025 to Mark Imran Khan’s Arrest Anniversary
Gohar Khan Announces PTI Rallies for August 5
PTI – (Staff Reporter/Web Desk) – The Gohar Khan PTI rally announcement has set the stage for a major show of strength across Pakistan. PTI chief Barrister Gohar Ali Khan confirmed that the party’s parliamentary members have agreed to hold rallies in cities nationwide on August 5. This date marks the day Imran Khan was first taken into custody back in 2023.
Speaking to reporters after a party meeting, Gohar said the session was called to discuss one main topic. But he admitted that the conversation soon widened to cover the country’s overall political situation.
He explained that August 5 holds deep meaning for PTI supporters. It was on this day that a court sentenced Imran Khan to three years in prison over a case involving state gifts. That ruling led to his arrest and kicked off a long legal battle that continues today.
This year’s Imran Khan arrest anniversary protest will look different from past demonstrations, according to Gohar. He did not share full details but hinted that the party plans a fresh approach to its street movement.
Party lawmakers also spoke out during the meeting. They voiced strong disagreement with the ongoing detention of both Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi. Gohar said every single PTI assembly member sees the imprisonment as unfair and against the law.
He added that PTI has already taken its case to the courts. Appeals are pending, but no final decisions have come through yet. Once the party’s political committee meets with opposition allies, they will jointly decide the next steps for the movement.
News of the PTI rallies August 5 2025 event comes shortly after a public call from Aleema Khan, Imran Khan’s sister. Speaking to workers in Lower Dir, Aleema urged supporters to step up their push for her brother’s release. She said the moment had come for PTI to demand justice.
Aleema also asked ordinary party workers to pressure their local lawmakers. She wants elected PTI members to leave their homes and join the movement directly, rather than stay on the sidelines.
Health concerns around Imran Khan have added urgency to these calls. Last month, he was taken to Pims hospital in Islamabad for treatment of an eye condition. Doctors gave him an injection as part of ongoing care for a problem called central retinal vein occlusion, a condition that affects blood flow in the eye.
This diagnosis came from a report shared with the Supreme Court. Doctors say the condition often links to issues like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or heart disease. Imran Khan is 74 years old, and his family says jail conditions have made his treatment harder.
As August 5 approaches, all eyes are on how PTI plans to carry out this new round of protests. With legal appeals still pending and health concerns mounting, the party appears set on making this year’s demonstration count.
