PML-N, PTI Dialogue: Sanaullah Emphasizes Need for Unconditional Talks
Pakistan-PML-N, PTI Dialogue, Sanaullah Emphasizes Need for Unconditional Talks. Following the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) denial of claims that its leader instructed them to initiate talks with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and other parties, Rana Sanaullah, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political and Public Affairs, stated that Nawaz Sharif is advocating for unconditional dialogue with all political parties, including the PTI.
Sanaullah made this point clear during an interview with a local TV channel on Wednesday, asserting that Nawaz Sharif’s position had been conveyed to PTI members in the National Assembly.
These comments came after Defence Minister Khawaja Asif categorically denied that Nawaz Sharif had directed the ruling party to start discussions with PTI. Asif stated that negotiations would not advance unless PTI apologized for the violent incidents of May 9. He also criticized PTI, noting that despite the Prime Minister’s invitation to sign an economic charter, there had been no response from Imran Khan or his ministers.

Asif emphasized, “PM Shehbaz extended an offer for unconditional talks two weeks ago.”
Sanaullah reiterated that Nawaz Sharif had urged all political stakeholders to unite to address the nation’s crisis, a message reinforced in a recent PML-N leadership meeting. He also encouraged PTI to adopt a more flexible stance to facilitate meaningful discussions.
This dialogue comes amidst reports that the PML-N had approached Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Chairman Mahmood Khan Achakzai to help mediate talks with PTI. Achakzai, appointed by Imran Khan to negotiate with the ruling parties, expressed willingness to move forward with the discussions.
Sanaullah affirmed that the PML-N remains committed to resolving political issues through democratic dialogue.
Regarding the resignation of Balochistan National Party (BNP-M) chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal, Sanaullah acknowledged the difficulty Mengal might face in retracting his resignation. Mengal had resigned from the National Assembly, citing dissatisfaction with the deteriorating situation in Balochistan and a lack of confidence in the state, president, and prime minister.
Despite a meeting with a government delegation led by Sanaullah, who assured that Mengal’s concerns would be addressed, Mengal stood firm in his decision. Sanaullah emphasized the need to prioritize resolving issues in Balochistan and highlighted the government’s recognition of Mengal’s significant role in parliament for the province.
