PM Shehbaz Sharif vows strong action against violent protestors
Sharif stressed that weekly reviews would be conducted to monitor the legal proceedings against the individuals responsible.
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has pledged that those responsible for the violent protests in Islamabad will face the full force of the law. Speaking after a task force meeting on November 24th, Sharif condemned the protests, which caused significant disruption during the official visit of the Belarusian President, calling the events a source of national embarrassment.
The task force, which included key government officials such as Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar, and Prime Minister’s Advisor Rana Sanaullah, was briefed on the progress of investigations. Authorities have been collecting evidence, including weapons and ammunition, from the scene and are working swiftly to identify and arrest those involved.
Sharif stressed that weekly reviews would be conducted to monitor the legal proceedings against the individuals responsible. He emphasized that those who damaged public property, injured law enforcement personnel, or caused fatalities would face appropriate legal consequences.

Addressing the timing of the protests, which coincided with the state visit of the Belarusian President, Sharif expressed concern over the embarrassment caused to the country. Looking forward, he announced plans to establish a world-class anti-riot force and upgrade Islamabad’s Safe City project with a modern forensic laboratory to better address future unrest.
