KARACHI: (Web Desk) – In Karachi, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah announced that transport fares across Sindh will remain unchanged, as the government steps in with fuel subsidies to ease pressure on both transporters and passengers.
Speaking at a press conference held at the Chief Minister House, he stated that commuters using minibuses, buses, coasters, and Suzuki vans operating on route permits will continue to receive relief, despite rising fuel costs. The provincial government has decided to absorb the additional diesel expenses, particularly for intercity transport services.
Murad Ali Shah highlighted that transporters are fully cooperating with the government to ensure that the financial benefit is passed on to the public. He shared that a subsidy of Rs. 100,000 per bus is being provided through the federal government, while the Sindh government is prepared to offer further assistance if fuel prices increase again, preventing any fare hikes.
