Saudi Crown Prince Appreciates Pakistan’s Support for Regional Peace Efforts
ISLAMABAD: (Staff Reporter) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on Sunday, reaffirming Pakistan’s strong support for Saudi Arabia amid escalating regional tensions.
During the cordial conversation, Prime Minister Shehbaz strongly condemned the recent Houthi attacks targeting Saudi Arabia’s civilian and economic infrastructure.
Expressing complete solidarity with the Saudi leadership and people, the prime minister said the Houthi actions posed a serious threat to regional peace and security and could further disrupt the global economy, energy supplies and stability.
Prime Minister Shehbaz said he, along with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, would continue efforts to help de-escalate tensions and promote peace in the region.
He also praised Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for his “wise and sagacious leadership” in dealing with the crisis.
The prime minister conveyed his warm wishes and respectful regards to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman appreciated Pakistan’s steadfast support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its continued efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.
The two leaders agreed to remain in close contact and expressed their desire to meet at an early date.
