Imam-ul-Haq Faces Possible Ban After Preliminary Inquiry

ISLAMABAD: (News Desk) – A preliminary investigation report has been prepared into allegations against national cricketer Imam-ul-Haq, including a disputed injury, disciplinary violations and alleged dressing-room leaks, according to sources.

Sources said the inquiry has also revisited Imam-ul-Haq’s previous record, with the possibility of disciplinary action, including a ban, being considered.

Forensic analysis of mobile phones belonging to Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Rizwan is currently underway, with investigators examining financial matters and allegedly suspicious transactions, sources added.

According to sources, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had previously raised questions over an injury sustained by Imam-ul-Haq before the New Zealand tour, which took place ahead of the England tour.

Sources claimed that an earlier inquiry into the injury had recommended a two-year ban for the opening batter.

However, a former head coach and a former selector reportedly met PCB officials and advised against imposing the ban, while a former captain also allegedly played a role in preventing the disciplinary action.

The latest investigation is expected to determine whether the allegations are substantiated and what action, if any, should be taken against the cricketer.
