PM Chaudhry Anwarul Haq Marks Two Years of Historic Reforms and Progress in AJ&K

PM Haq’s Fiscal Reforms Save 31 Crore Annually, Boost Public Welfare

Islamabad (PID) – April 20, 2025: The allied government in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, under the leadership of Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, has successfully completed two years in office. During this period, the government has achieved remarkable milestones in the fields of Kashmir’s liberation movement, governance, and political and social reforms—accomplishments that have no precedent in the region’s history.

Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq has consistently prioritized the Kashmir liberation movement. In collaboration with the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, he formulated a comprehensive action plan and led vigorous campaigns across Azad Kashmir, organizing large public gatherings, seminars, conferences, and rallies on national days, including in the Legislative Assembly of Azad Kashmir. Throughout these events, the Prime Minister reaffirmed his commitment to allocate all resources for the Kashmir cause, while consistently advocating for dialogue and the use of military force as necessary to resolve the Kashmir issue.

In addition to his commitment to the Kashmir cause, the Prime Minister has taken bold steps to eliminate various mafias operating in the region, such as the timber mafia, cigarette mafia, flour mafia, and tea mafia. His efforts have saved billions of rupees in tax evasion. The government launched a social protection fund worth 10 billion rupees to provide financial assistance on a monthly basis to orphans, the disabled, widows, the elderly, divorced women, and transgender individuals.

Under Prime Minister Haq’s leadership, the education sector has seen substantial reforms. The government provided a grant of one billion rupees to universities, rescuing them from financial crises, while reforms in colleges transformed them into profitable institutions. A partnership with the National Technical Education Corporation (NTEC) has provided vocational training to 5,000 youth annually, and for the first time in history, the government recruited 3,000 teachers through a transparent process via the National Testing Service (NTS).

The healthcare sector also saw groundbreaking reforms, including a historical health package, with a focus on underserved areas. Bureaucratic reforms have been implemented to eliminate regionalism and patronage, ensuring appointments and promotions are based on performance, capability, and merit. The government also provided loans to skilled youth for starting businesses in collaboration with Akhuwat Foundation, aiming to increase the loan pool to five billion rupees.

Prime Minister Haq’s administration also undertook extensive fiscal reforms, including eliminating 66 discretionary posts at the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, cutting unnecessary expenses, and saving 31 crore rupees annually. These savings were redirected towards public welfare initiatives. Additionally, the government ensured that small government employees were respected, and unnecessary staff was reassigned to improve efficiency.

Moreover, the government provided buses to colleges, especially those for female students, to facilitate their education. The creation of a neutral Public Service Commission (PSC) further promoted merit-based recruitment, offering hundreds of jobs to young people purely on merit.

Prime Minister Haq also made significant strides in the infrastructure sector, launching hydropower projects and revitalizing long-stalled initiatives. He ensured that essential services, such as healthcare and education, were improved, and public funds were spent efficiently on these sectors.

In the area of security, Prime Minister Haq responded to the challenges of modern warfare, enhancing the capacity of police and security agencies. His proactive measures led to the thwarting of several attempts at sabotage and ensured the capture of all involved perpetrators.

Looking ahead, Prime Minister Haq remains committed to long-term development projects aimed at improving the lives of ordinary citizens. His focus on infrastructure, education, healthcare, and social welfare ensures that Azad Jammu and Kashmir is on the path to prosperity, with a brighter future for its people.
