Punjab Food Authority Confiscates 400kg Banned Chinese Salt Rawalpindi Warehouse

RAWALPINDI: (Web Desk) – The Punjab Food Authority carried out a raid on a warehouse in Kabutar Gali, Ganj Mandi in Rawalpindi on Monday, confiscating 400 kilograms of banned Chinese salt. Officials later destroyed the seized stock after confirming that the product is prohibited from sale and distribution across the province.

Authorities said the illegal salt, valued at approximately Rs640,000, had been hidden inside bags of rice in an apparent attempt to avoid detection during inspections.

Following the operation, a case was registered against the warehouse owner for storing and trading a banned item. Officials reiterated that the sale and purchase of Chinese salt remain strictly prohibited throughout Punjab Province due to regulatory restrictions.
