Drone Strike Sparks Fire at UAE Fujairah Oil Hub

Regional Tensions Escalate After UAE Oil Port Hit by Drone

DUBAI (Web Desk) – Thick black smoke rose over Fujairah as flames engulfed one of the United Arab Emirates’ largest oil storage facilities following a sudden drone strike. Dramatic footage circulating online shows the blaze spreading rapidly across the complex, a vital hub for global energy logistics and maritime fuel supply. The port allows tankers to bypass the Strait of Hormuz, which remains effectively closed amid escalating conflicts involving Iran, Israel, and the United States.

The attack follows warnings from Iranian forces urging civilians near UAE ports to avoid potential targets, heightening concerns about strikes on critical regional infrastructure. Videos online show dense smoke pouring from the Fujairah complex, underscoring the facility’s strategic importance for shipping and oil storage.

Violence in the Middle East is also spreading to other countries. In Lebanon, Israeli airstrikes hit residential areas, igniting fires and forcing residents to flee, while inside Israel, Iranian missiles reportedly targeted central districts, prompting fears of a broader regional war.

Iran Damages Five US Tankers at Saudi Base

The flare-up comes shortly after US President Donald Trump announced a large-scale bombing raid on Kharg Island, Iran’s primary oil export hub. Trump described the operation as “one of the most powerful bombing raids in the history of the Middle East,” claiming military targets on the island were “totally obliterated” while emphasizing that the oil facilities were deliberately spared. He warned that future strikes could target the island’s oil infrastructure if Iran obstructs international shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.

Despite the US strikes, Iranian state media reported that Kharg Island’s oil infrastructure remained intact. Targets reportedly hit included air defense systems, a naval base, an airport control tower, and a helicopter hangar. Officials in Bushehr province confirmed no casualties and stated that oil exports and operations on the island were continuing normally. Kharg Island, located approximately 24 kilometers off Iran’s southern coast, handles nearly 90% of the country’s crude exports, supplying major buyers including China.
