ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – In the qualifier of the Pakistan Super League Season 11, Peshawar Zalmi registered a dominant 70-run victory over Islamabad United at National Stadium Karachi, securing their place in the final.
After winning the toss, Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan opted to field first. Peshawar Zalmi posted a commanding total of 221/7 in 20 overs, powered by a sensational century from Babar Azam, who scored 103 off 59 balls. This marked his 13th T20 century and fourth in PSL history.
Supporting contributions came from Mohammad Haris (35), Kusal Mendis (41), and Aaron Hardie (20). For Islamabad United, Shadab Khan took three wickets while Richard Gleeson claimed two.

In response, Islamabad United were bowled out for 151 in pursuit of 222. Sameer Minhas top-scored with 44 runs, but the batting lineup failed to build partnerships against a disciplined Zalmi attack. For Zalmi, Aaron Hardie took three wickets, while Sufyan Muqim and Mohammad Basit picked up two wickets each.
With this victory, Peshawar Zalmi advanced to the PSL 11 final for a record fifth time, making them the most frequent finalists in the tournament’s history.
Despite the loss, Islamabad United remain in the competition and will get another opportunity to qualify for the final through the remaining playoff route.
