Cursor has quickly emerged as one of the world’s most widely used AI-powered code editors

NEW YORK (Web Desk): A Pakistani entrepreneur is among four young cofounders of the fast-rising AI coding platform Cursor, whose parent company Anysphere has reached a valuation of $29.3 billion after raising $2.3 billion in fresh funding.

According to estimates by Forbes, each cofounder, Michael Truell, Aman Sanger, Sualeh Asif from Karachi, and Arvid Lunnemark, now holds a stake worth at least $1.3 billion.

Launched in 2022, Cursor has quickly emerged as one of the world’s most widely used AI-powered code editors, serving millions of developers and tens of thousands of teams. Major companies such as Nvidia, Adobe, Uber, Shopify, and PayPal are among its users.

Anysphere reports that its annualized revenue has surpassed $1 billion, reflecting rapid adoption. The startup, founded by four Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) friends all under 30, has raised more than $3.3 billion from leading venture capital firms.

Cursor’s growth has been particularly striking, jumping from $1 million in annual recurring revenue in 2023 to $100 million within a year. One cofounder, Arvid Lunnemark, departed in 2025 to launch a new venture focused on safer AI systems.

The platform enables engineers to use advanced AI models to generate, edit, and debug code. It has also introduced its own model, Composer, designed for faster code generation and more autonomous task handling.

With soaring AI valuations, Cursor’s founders now join a growing group of young billionaires reshaping the global technology landscape
