Pakistan U17 Volleyball Team Reaches World Championship Quarterfinals

DOHA, QATAR (Sports Reporter) — Pakistan’s U17 boys’ volleyball team has reached the quarterfinals of the FIVB Boys’ U17 World Championship 2026 after producing a remarkable comeback against Egypt in their Round of 16 clash on August 25.

The young Green Shirts found themselves two sets down but refused to surrender. Pakistan turned the match around with an outstanding display of determination and composure, eventually defeating Egypt 3-2 in a thrilling encounter.

Pakistan lost the opening two sets 17-25 and 21-25, before launching a spectacular comeback. The team claimed the next two sets 25-18 and 25-15, setting up a tense deciding set. Pakistan held its nerve in the fifth set to secure a 15-12 victory and complete one of the tournament’s most memorable comebacks.

The historic win earned praise from the leadership of the Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF). PVF Chairman Chaudhry Muhammad Yaqoob and President Sohail Khawar Mir congratulated the players and coaching staff on their impressive achievement and praised the team for making the country proud on the international stage.

Pakistan’s impressive campaign in Doha now moves into the quarterfinal stage, where the young national side will look to build on its momentum and continue its historic run at the 2026 world championship.
