Pakistan, Türkiye Agree To Strengthen Bilateral Relations

ISTANBUL: (Staff Reporter) – Pakistan and Türkiye have agreed to further strengthen their bilateral relationship and convene the next session of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC) at the earliest opportunity.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a meeting with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan in Istanbul on Sunday, where the two sides reviewed bilateral relations and discussed regional and international developments.

Pakistan, Türkiye Welcome Expanding Ties

The two foreign ministers expressed satisfaction with the continued expansion of cooperation between Pakistan and Türkiye across the political, economic, security and cultural sectors.

Dar and Fidan welcomed the progress achieved under the HLSCC framework and agreed to hold the council’s next session at the earliest.

The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international matters and reaffirmed their commitment to working together to promote regional peace, stability and cooperation.

The meeting was attended by Special Secretary (UN) Nabeel Munir, Director General (UN) Umar Siddique, First Secretary Qazi Saleem and Deputy Director to the Foreign Minister Agha Hunain.

Pakistan, Türkiye And Saudi Arabia To Attend Strategic Meeting

Separately, the Foreign Office spokesperson said senior officials from Pakistan, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia are scheduled to participate in a strategic committee meeting.

Pakistan’s delegation will include Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and Field Marshal Asim Munir.

The meeting is expected to provide another platform for the three countries to discuss strategic cooperation and matters of shared regional interest.
