Supreme Court Rejects Urgent Hearing Plea in Imran Khan Case
Three-Member SC Bench To Hear Imran Khan Case On September 16
ISLAMABAD: (Court Reporter) – The Supreme Court has rejected a second request seeking an urgent hearing of a contempt petition related to the proposed hospital transfer of PTI founder Imran Khan.
According to the court registrar’s office, the petition has already been scheduled for hearing on September 16, making an early hearing unnecessary.
In its response to the second plea, the registrar’s office noted that 94 contempt petitions are currently pending before the Supreme Court. Under the court’s scheduling policy, cases are taken up according to their turn.
Second Plea For Early Hearing Rejected
Uzma Khan had submitted the second application requesting an early hearing of the contempt petition concerning Imran Khan’s transfer to a hospital.
The Supreme Court had previously fixed the matter for September 16, along with other petitions related to the issue.
The newly issued judges’ roster has formally confirmed the hearing date and bench for the proceedings.
Three-Member Bench To Hear Case
According to the roster, the petitions will be heard by a three-member bench headed by Justice Shahid Waheed.
Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim will be the other members of the bench.
The case will now come before the bench on September 16, when the court is expected to consider the petitions and determine the further course of proceedings.
The matter remains significant amid ongoing legal and political debate surrounding Imran Khan’s medical treatment and potential transfer to a hospital.
