Pakistan Cabinet Reviews Iran-US Ceasefire, Announces Day of Thanksgiving

Islamabad: (Web Desk) – A key meeting of the federal cabinet was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, where detailed consultations took place regarding the historic ceasefire between United States and Iran, as well as Pakistan’s pivotal diplomatic role.

During the meeting, the cabinet unanimously decided to observe a “Day of Thanksgiving” across the country on the coming Friday, celebrating what it termed a major diplomatic success for Pakistan. Cabinet members congratulated the prime minister on this achievement.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif urged the nation to offer special prayers on the occasion, seeking the success of ongoing negotiations and lasting peace in the region. He paid rich tribute to Asim Munir for his tireless efforts in the mission, drawing applause from cabinet members.

The prime minister stated that Allah has elevated Pakistan’s prestige, calling the development a collective success of the entire nation. He noted that Pakistan had the honor of hosting the crucial negotiations between the United States and Iran.

He also appreciated the contributions of Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, emphasizing that the coordinated efforts of all stakeholders made the breakthrough possible.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to peace, the prime minister said the government would continue striving to turn the temporary ceasefire into a lasting peace agreement. He added that Pakistan remains dedicated to promoting global stability and has once again demonstrated its role as a responsible nuclear state capable of facilitating the resolution of international conflicts.
