CAR T-cell therapy is a highly advanced form of immunotherapy in which a patient’s own immune cells are modified to recognise and attack cancer cells. The procedure is used for certain complex blood cancers, particularly when conventional treatment options have not produced the desired results.

A 21-year-old patient has reportedly made a full recovery after receiving the therapy. Medical officials said the patient and family showed remarkable courage and cooperation throughout the treatment process.

The successful procedure places Pakistan among countries capable of offering this sophisticated cancer treatment and is being seen as an important step forward for the country’s healthcare sector.
