Oil Prices Slip Amid US Iran Peace Deal Hopes

Oil Prices Ease as US Iran Talks Raise Peace Deal Expectations

ISLAMABAD: (News Desk) – Global oil prices edged lower after growing optimism over a possible agreement between the United States and Iran lifted expectations that tensions in the region could ease. Market sentiment improved as diplomatic discussions involving Iran and Oman continued, increasing hopes that a breakthrough could be reached.

According to Reuters, Brent crude futures dropped by 37 cents, or 0.5%, settling at $79.08 per barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude declined by 53 cents, or 0.7%, to $74.69 per barrel.

The slight decline followed a modest gain in Brent crude during the previous trading session. Analysts said investors are closely monitoring the negotiations, believing that a successful agreement could help end months of regional uncertainty.

Market participants also expect that a peace deal between Washington and Tehran could lead to smoother shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global energy route, reducing supply concerns and putting downward pressure on oil prices.
