Nauman Ijaz Says Surah Rahman Played Key Role In Recovery

Actor says daily prayer and recitation helped him through diagnosis and surgery

Nauman Ijaz – (Staff Reporter/Web Desk) – Nauman Ijaz has spoken publicly for the first time about a private health battle he fought two years ago. The senior actor shared that he was diagnosed with a tumour and lymphoma in June 2024, a moment that changed his outlook on life.

Speaking during a recent podcast, Ijaz recalled the fear that came with the diagnosis. His first thought, he said, was not about himself but about how the illness would affect his family.

A close friend suggested he turn to prayer and recite Surah Rahman daily. Ijaz took the advice to heart and made it part of his nightly routine, saying it gave him strength during an uncertain time.

He later underwent surgery to remove the tumour near his ear. Doctors had scheduled chemotherapy as the next step, but follow-up scans showed the lymphoma was no longer detectable.

Ijaz described the outcome as unexpected and deeply emotional. He said he continues to recite the same verses every day, calling the experience one of the most meaningful chapters of his life.

The actor, known for his work in Pakistani television dramas, has largely kept his personal life away from the spotlight. This rare disclosure has struck a chord with fans who admire his openness about a difficult period.
