Mohsin Naqvi announces major Passport reforms

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) The federal government has announced major reforms to improve passport services and provide relief to citizens. The decisions were taken during a meeting chaired by Mohsin Naqvi and Talal Chaudhry.
According to the details, the processing time for a normal passport has been reduced from 21 days to 14 days, ensuring faster delivery for applicants. The Interior Minister also directed the implementation of a fully cashless system in passport offices, which is expected to be enforced within the next 15 days.

Mohsin Naqvi stated that eliminating cash payments will help curb the agent mafia and make the process more transparent and convenient for the public. Additionally, the system for home delivery of passports will be further improved to enhance efficiency.
The meeting also reviewed progress on the introduction of a business passport, with instructions issued to finalize its framework at the earliest. The Interior Minister emphasized that establishing a dedicated Passport Authority is essential to modernize the system and improve public service delivery.
