Idaho Air Show Shock: Military Jets Eject Crew After Mid-Air Collision

US NAVY – (Web Desk) – All four crew members involved in a military jets eject Idaho air show incident escaped safely on Sunday after two Navy jets collided mid-air near Mountain Home Air Force Base.

The two EA-18G Growler aircraft were performing an aerial display at the Gunfighter Skies Air Show when they collided about two miles from the base. It happened around 12:10 pm local time.

All four crew members ejected before impact and survived. The Navy confirmed the news through spokesperson Commander Amelia Umayam of Naval Air Forces, US Pacific Fleet.

The base was locked down shortly after the crash. Authorities are now investigating the full cause of the incident.

The jets belonged to Electronic Attack Squadron 129, based at Whidbey Island in Washington state. The team was listed as a scheduled performer at the event.

This was the first Gunfighter Skies Air Show held in eight years. The last event in 2018 ended in tragedy when a hang glider pilot lost his life.

No further details have been released. Officials say more information will come as the investigation continues.
