US Recognises Pakistan’s Key Counterterrorism Role

Pakistan Declared Reliable Counterterrorism Partner By United States

ISLAMAMABD: (Web Desk) The United States has described Pakistan as an important counter-terrorism ally and a source of regional stability, recognising Islamabad’s continued contributions to anti-terror operations across the region.

United States Central Command chief Brad Cooper told a briefing of the US Senate Committee that Pakistan remains a dependable partner in counter-terrorism cooperation and has played a significant role in operations against ISIS-K.

Admiral Cooper said close defence coordination between Washington and Islamabad has produced effective results against militant organisations operating in the region.

He noted that these achievements demonstrate the enduring partnership and shared commitment between both countries in combating terrorism and maintaining regional security.

The CENTCOM chief further stated that regional states, particularly those in Central Asia, are carefully observing growing security challenges originating from Afghanistan and militant groups associated with the Taliban.

He added that because of persistent terrorist threats and evolving regional instability, Afghanistan continues to remain a major focus of US security monitoring and strategic attention.

Security experts believe the statement reflects global recognition of Pakistan’s sacrifices, operational strength and strategic role in the international campaign against terrorism.

Analysts also said the CENTCOM remarks support Pakistan’s longstanding stance that militant networks based on Afghan territory continue to threaten regional peace and stability.

The latest comments are being viewed as another acknowledgment of Pakistan’s frontline role in counter-terrorism cooperation and its ongoing coordination with international allies.
