TEHRAN: (Web Desk) – Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held a high-level meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian at the Presidential Palace in Tehran, where discussions focused on bilateral relations and regional cooperation.
According to Pakistan’s Embassy in Tehran, the private meeting between Mohsin Naqvi and President Pezeshkian lasted around 90 minutes and was also attended by Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
During the visit, Naqvi also met separately with Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, as part of a series of high-level engagements aimed at strengthening diplomatic and institutional ties between the two neighboring countries.
Earlier meetings included talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, where discussions reportedly centered on border management, trade facilitation and transit cooperation.
Iran’s state news agency IRNA reported that both sides emphasized improving border trade, exchange of goods and economic cooperation, highlighting the importance of strong bilateral relations rooted in shared history and regional connectivity.
While the meetings took place amid broader regional tensions, official statements primarily focused on economic cooperation and cross-border trade development, without directly addressing the wider geopolitical conflict involving Iran and Western powers.
Pakistan is increasingly positioning itself as a facilitator for regional dialogue, with officials emphasizing stability, trade expansion and improved connectivity with neighboring countries.
